Submission Rules

Welcome to Friday Night Library

At Friday Night Library, we celebrate the magic of words and the beauty of poetic expression. Whether you’re a seasoned poet or just beginning your journey, our print magazine is a space where your voice can shine.

We don’t believe poetry should stay online—and every sale helps us honor that belief, one print issue at a time.

While we currently publish one beautifully curated print issue each year, we may release additional themed issues or special editions when inspiration calls and time allows.

This Issue’s Theme:

The Art of Poetry – A Multidisciplinary Showcase
Our Spring Issue (releasing May 15) explores poetry in conversation with other art forms—visual art, photography, calligraphy, movement, and more. It’s a celebration of creative intersections and poetic expression in all its forms.

Submissions are now closed.
Thank you to everyone who shared their work with us! If you missed this round, don’t worry—submissions will reopen for our next issue when the time is right.

Submission Periods & Release Dates

  • Annual Issue – Releases in Spring (Submissions: January – March)

  • Additional themed issues may be announced throughout the year as capacity allows.

The Poet’s Promise

Friday Night Library is a space built from love—for the craft, for the community, and for the joy of sharing words. While we don’t offer financial compensation at this time, every contributor receives a printed copy of the magazine, thoughtful promotion across our platforms, and a permanent space in our growing archive of poetic voices.

We never charge submission fees. Every issue is a labor of care, designed to honor the work we publish in print form forever.

We’re also working toward building a physical community space—through pop-up libraries, free workshops, and poetry events—because we believe sharing words in person is just as vital as publishing them on a page.
